Because Shama owns the majority of the properties we operate, we evaluate assets as an owner. We not only assess what is needed to convert average real estate into first-class, international-standard serviced apartments, but we do so while delivering exceptional quality to budget specifications. Shama also adds tremendous value to the property itself (post-renovation, the majority of our properties increase in value by 100%) and we create a business. Rentals have been known to increase some 400% after we transformed the property and added our Shama brand of service, while our cash flows are often significantly higher than our competitors.

At Shama, we are supremely well-connected. Our leasing department has a vast multinational corporate client list in excess of 1,000 regional contacts. The majority of our leasing is handled directly through our relationships with corporate human resource managers and through our company website.

Shama’s marketing and public relations team is exceptionally creative and talented, as evidenced by our ability to work with and through all media channels, be it television or print. Our launch parties are testimony to Shama’s brand positioning, attracting a host of distinguished guests, from movie stars to politicians.

Shama maintains offices in all of the cities where we operate properties. Today, this includes Shanghai and Beijing, as well as our head office in Hong Kong. Our presence on the ground lets us build a capable network of experts and draw on local talent. In each city, we build our teams with the aim to best adapt to a location’s style, culture and specifications.
While Shama owns a large percentage of the properties we operate, we are actively looking for strong partnerships. We currently have assets under third-party management, while other properties can operate as joint ventures. Depending upon the location and the asset itself, we are open to any of the aforementioned partnership avenues.
